Who we are
SCS is a Durham Public Schools (NC) magnet school dedicated to instilling the Habits of Mind through creative studies that strengthen CREATIVITY, COMMUNICATION, COLLABORATION, and COMMUNITY. A $3 festival fee helps the SCS 10th Grade Project Fund. The festival is open to the public for people of all ages. See the Festival Information page for additional ticket and event details.

The SCS Artist-in-Residence Program (Project AIR) strives to enhance students' knowledge through hands-on activities with experienced professionals in a variety of artistic fields. In connection with research on international topics, the 10th Grade Team is aspiring to create a community event that will inspire, entertain, and inform about global issues. With the help of Artist-in-Residence, Barbara Rich, students collaborated to plan, design, and create the first annual International Festival, a student-run and student-led community event.

Hope to see you there! |
"The teams have been working hard to accomplish what we hope will be a great festival! Project AIR is pretty cool because you can talk to people who have experience in doing things you want to do. It's helped me become more organized and more goal-oriented to manage my time well. I hope that everything will come together and that everyone has a good time. It will be fun for everyone to be exposed to cultures to which they may not have before." -McKenna Dodson, 10, Project Coordinator
